As the Skipper of the Tampa Bay Mariners Club, Inc., I appreciate your interest in our club and thank you for visiting our website. We are a Florida Not For Profit Corporation, the members of which have a keen interest in a friendly association between its members, the maintenance of a high standard of ethical and sound business practices in the maritime industry, and the continuing education of all persons interested in the maritime industry and related fields.
In order to help improve the maritime industry, we provide continuing education and legislative information to our members during our regular monthly lunch meetings. Please click on the Monthly Meetings link on the left-hand side of this page for more information.
We hold an annual education and networking Marine Industry Seminar in May of each year. This follows the tradition of the old Tampa Bay Mariners Club (which was chartered in 1973 and was terminated in 2007). This Marine Industry Seminar is open to all interested persons and our attendees work in numerous maritime fields including insurance, law, surveying, salvage, marine repair and construction, finance, and other related fields in the support of the marine industry. By calling upon knowledgeable and well-credentialed speakers, we have been successful in working with numerous accrediting agencies and organizations such as the Department of Insurance, State of Florida, the Florida Bar Association, the National Association of Marine Surveyors (NAMS) ®, and the Society of Marine Surveyors (SAMS) ®. As a result, attendees have obtained approved continuing education credits in fields such as licensed resident and non-resident Florida agents and adjusters, maritime attorneys, and marine surveyors.
Membership in the Tampa Bay Mariners Club, Inc. is open to all persons employed in, or who have retired from, the maritime industry and any and all allied fields. I invite you to explore our website, join us at our next meeting and become a member of our club.
Best regards,
Robert A. Craven
