A Letter from the Skipper

I am honored to have been elected as the Skipper of the Tampa Bay Mariners Club, Inc., for 2020. On behalf of all Members, I would like to personally thank you for visiting our website. I also encourage you to browse the entire site, and contact any of our Officers or Members if you need additional information, or if we can be of service.

The Tampa Bay Mariners Club, Inc. was incorporated as a Florida Not-For-Profit Corporation and began operations on April 27, 2007. From its first meeting, it adopted many traditions from the former Tampa Bay Mariners Club (which was chartered in 1973 and was terminated in March 2007, after donating its remaining assets to maritime charities). These adopted, proud traditions continue today, with the intent of
promoting the maritime industry through ethical business relationships, education, fellowship and charitable contributions.

Our organization provides educational opportunities, networking and fellowship at our monthly lunch Meetings, which are held in the Tampa Bay area. We strive to have guest speakers with topics relevant to today’s maritime industry. For more details, please visit the “Monthly Meetings” section of our website.

On Thursday, May 14, 2020, we will hold our annual Marine Insurance/Maritime Industry Seminar preceded on Wednesday, May 13, 2020, by our annual Golf Tournament/Charity Fundraiser, and an evening Speakers Reception.

The theme for this year’s seminar is “Marine Insurance- 2020 and Beyond … Who is Going to Man the Helm?”. The seminar is open to all interested persons. We will apply for continuing education credits from the Florida Department of Financial Services for insurance agents and adjusters; from the Florida Bar for attorneys; and for surveyors, from the National Association of Marine Surveyors (NAMS) and the Society of Accredited Marine Surveyors (SAMS).

Membership in the Tampa Bay Mariners Club, Inc. is open to all persons employed in, or who have retired from, the maritime industry and all allied fields, subject to our Bylaws. If you are not currently a Member, we would be glad to provide you with any infom1ation you might need that would encourage you to get involved. I would welcome the opportunity for you to join us at a monthly Meeting, attend our annual Seminar or become a Member.
